Laredo Fire Dept assists with vehicle recovery


Fire Department rescue personnel responded to the Rio Grande to assist in a vehicle recovery. This occured after a vehicle chase wih law enforcement personnel. The driver and passenger bailed before the vehicle coasted in the river.
Fire rescue personnel aided in by locating the vehicle that was completly submerged. This was done to aid in the vehicle recovery.

Man sent to Hospital after rollover


A local man was sent to the hospital after his delivery truck was struck by an SUV. Fire crews arriverd to assist those involved in the accident. One Man was found to have back and neck pain.

Driver walks away from rollover


A female driver walked away from a single vehicle rollover on IH 35 just before Saunders. Fire crews arrived and aided the driver and found she had no injuries. She refused transportaion to the hospital.

Laredo Fire Department assist Mexican Fire Dept at blaze

Laredo Department Fire Fighters were called upon to assist Firefighters in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico at several blazes this afternoon. Laredo Fire fighters assisted at two structure fires and a grass fire located in different areas of the city. No injuries were reported at the time of posting. More details to come.

Nuevo Laredo Fire officials requested aid from our department once it was determined that the fires were beyond their control.

Motorcycle Accident on IH35

An accident on IH 35 involving a vehicle and motorcycle send one man to the hospital. AFter being struck by the car, driver of the motorcycle sustained multiple injuries, He was transported to a local hospital by fire department paramedics.

Grass fire in east Laredo keeps fire crews busy

A grass fire was reported in east Laredo located near hwy 359. Fire crews battled the brush fire for two days. A significant amount of acreage was affected. Dry Conditions in the area contributed to the blaze.

Busy Sunday for Fire Department

*Fire engine number 1 responded to a car on fire at Bridge no. 2. Fire Fighters quickly extinguished the car fire tha occurred mid way on the bridge. No injuries or other damage was reported.

*Fire crews from DIstrict one and two reponded to a tractor trailer fire located adjacent to a residence at the 1900 blk of Pinder. Crews extinguished the fire and saved the residence. No injuries reported.

* A residential fire was reported at the 400 blk of west Saunders. The house sustained significant damage. The case is under investigation by the arson division. The house was reported to have been vacant at the time.

Stabbings sends 2 to local hospitals

Fire emergency crews respond to a stabbing at the 400 blk of Tuna in south Laredo. EMS supervisor reports that two individuals sustained stabbing wounds after an altercation and required transportation to a local hospital. The injuries were treated by fire medics. One other individual, a female, received blunt force wounds and was also transported.

Mexican Fire Fighters receive training at Laredo Fire Dept.



Fire Fighters from across Mexico travelled to Laredo to receive training at the Laredo Fire Dept International Trainng Center.

The Curriculum includes fire suppression and life saving techniques. The course lasted one week.

Fire Dept Honor Guard Presents colors at ceremony


The Laredo Fire Dept. Honor Guard presents colors at a City ceremony this morning. The ceremony was to celebrate the new water lines to "Los Tanquecitos" colonia. Much needed water will be provided to residents of the area.
