Fire crews from fire station no. 5 "A" Shift responded to a auto-pedestrian accident at Guadalupe and Jarvis. Paramedics arrived to find a 12 yo female patient complaining of pain to her lower extremity. She was treated and quickly transported to a local hospital for further evaluation with non-life threatening injuries. The child was on her way to school when she was struck by a vehicle who subsequently fled the scene. PD is investigating the case.
Drivers are urged to excercise caution when driving by schools during school hours and to be wary of pedestrian traffic so as to avoid tragedies.
